My globe trotting adventure begins. Not the globe, but, its a good start.. After a really long tiring flight, the main reason for my current backache, its 5 pm in Egypt and we are finally here. Its chilly and dark already but the fact that I'm soaked in excitement is giving me the push in keeping my eyes wide open to witness the whole pretty city. Even the flight to Egypt made me feel the love and warmth of the people. A really sweet co-passenger in flight offered to teach me some basic words that might help me get at-least a little familiar with the language. And if your thinking it couldn't get any sweeter, he gives me his number so I could contact in case of any emergency. Such an angel !!

En route to hotel, I'm feeling the love. I'm being showered with compliments. people in Egypt think I'm really pretty. Nefertiti they call me. It means "the beauty has come". Now if that's not a brilliant way to be welcomed into a new country, then please tell me what is.. The first visit in Egypt is the famous river Nile. The longest river in the world that flows through the Egypt gives an ecstatic look to the city. And I'm among the lucky few who gets to sit on the cruise on this river bed. With beautiful belly dance performances to entertain us through the night and a sumptuous dinner with Egyptian delicacies. 

And thus, Team India begins their once-in-a-lifetime journey. Our next morning begins with barely 4 hours of sleep, a hurried breakfast and into the bus for a tour around the city. And very obviously, our first stop was the Egyptian pyramids of Giza. The massive structure that's still one of the wonders of the world is up to 500 ft in height and entirely made in limestone and marble. The wide deserted landscape with the pyramids in view with ancient Egyptian carvings still fresh is a breath taking scenery.

And then the tour continued to what Egypt is really famous for. Natural oils made with fragrances that are used in perfumes, healing oils, air freshener aromatic oils, all made with basic ingredients and extracts of flowers and herbs. 

We visited a few famous churches built with roman inspired architecture and sturdy finesse. Churches influenced by the bible, places where Jesus Christ once did trot. You have to be really blessed and lucky to be in such a holy place. And not to forget, how can a girl like me leave out on a chance to shop.
